Weren't just plain flags. There was writing on them that I assume was construed as being political slogans which is against league rules I believe.

Saw the incident myself and the people that put them up came from a different area of the ground to do so, so if the people who do occupy those seats don't want those flags there no matter whats on them, they should be taken down. Understandable really.

I would love all politics to be kept out of football.

It's a sport.

Some trying to make it toxic.

Too many minute silences, claps, flags.

Personally I preferred "Kick racism out" over BLM, being involved in football. But that's another debate.

The difference is the Black Lives Matter gesture before games doesn't claim to be a political gesture (people deliberately conflate it as such). It's simply an anti-racist motion.

Having flags with undeniably political slogans emblazoned across flags from other parts of the world is obviously unashamedly political.

Probably because it wasn't working (not saying changing the slogan to black lives matter) has worked either mind. The words black lives matter I've noticed aren't mentioned much now in the coverage.

But you're conflating it with a politically active group in America and that's what the Wikipedia article you've read relates to. Over here it's anti racist slogan used to raise awareness in conjunction with the knee gesture. So as I say, there is at least the pretence that it's non political, although a few people conveniently choose to believe otherwise.

And they just happen to have the same name as an anti racism slogan. None of our players are members of that group and no one in this country can vote for them and let's face no support for groups like that have increased as a result of footballers taking the knee.

And even though you don't hear the three words 'black lives matter' being associated with the knee being taken much anymore (maybe there's been a concerted effort to put distance between it from broadcasters / FA?), the people who were moaning about it previously being politically aligned (it can't be anymore if the words 'black lives matter' is no longer associated with it can it?) still boo the players. So that tells you all you need to know about those people.....

I would not boo any of our players, whether they take the knee, losing 5-0 to Cardiff or for any other reason.

They say never discuss politics or religion. I can see why.

The only ones who have regretted our escape from the clutches of Brussels are those who were employing the exploited eastern Europeans. What are you missing, a cheap EU nanny to look after your kids or someone to do your garden? Worry not, you can still exploit some cheap labour from the far east and fly your star spangled sphincter flag.

And I think you’ve just highlighted the reason why a heck of a lot of people voted for Brexit. The problem is quite a few of those Eastern Europeans (not all of course) were doing jobs Brits wouldn’t do, agricultural work, haulage etc and now we’re having issues with crops rotting and deliveries. Others would certainly have worked in areas where their presence could have reduced wages. Another issue is that the real boom area of the UK is the South East - an area where most Brits just can’t afford to move to. Some of the migrants were living in conditions we wouldn’t dream of, bed sharing between day shift and night shift workers etc - if we had more affordable housing then things could be different.

Wages are going up, but so are costs and if inflation isn’t gripped soon things will turn ugly.
Was told by someone in the building trade one of the major national house builders is looking at mothballing a large number of their housing developments sites materials have become so expensive and they fear a crash in house prices as we move into economic turbulence.

Early days, but so far there are pluses and negatives.
