Mark topics read

What's the point in having a "mark topics read" link?
Putting it close to the "jump to" button means clumsy fingered people mark everything as read (as it said on the tin.

Can it be removed? Maybe it's just me that clicks it in error (about 3 times so far).

When you come on in the morning and there's lots of bollox you don't wanna look at, click mark read so you see anything posted after you got on. I use it everyday.

It's very difficult to move it as it is part of the standard layout but if it's a wider issue then more than happy to look at the options.
