Don’t we have a 6 foot 5 defender that has seemingly completely disappeared though when he’s bemoaning our lack of height?

Well, he needs to take a long hard look at himself in the mirror and rethink is game plan/s, in recent weeks HIS team have capitulated 3 times in the last few weeks 4-1 to 4 all then 3 up to to 3 all and then todays 5-1 mauling which could have easily been 8,9 or 10.
