Absolutely phenomenal tonight.

I thought he absolutely ran the show… made everything tick and actually drove forward and played the ball forward.

Thought him and Cundle linked well.

My man of the match tonight.

Definitely one of his best performances tonight

Need more of the same

Outstanding second half. Too cautious with the ball first half for my liking. He's so much better when on the front foot as opposed to safety first.

Top top stuff and unbelievably unselfish for Lati’s goal- maybe he thought Piroe would be on the end of it for his hat trick

That was easily the best he's played for a good while.

Bossed it, fair play.

I think he’s massively underrated here, fought his way back up to be club captain after grafting on loan in L2 with Northampton, credit to him, comes across a very well spoken nice bloke as well.

Magnificent. Turned forward at every opportunity; fooled Watford totally, plus everyone in the stadium. Totally different. If Martin forgets the twatball approach, and uses these players properly, we could really do something. The movement and crispness was a joy, but the real difference was intent. Night and day.

He’s underrated by some fans. Anyone who has managed the club, or played with Grimes since we arrived back in the Championship would tell those fans they didn’t have a clue on that particular subject though, I have no doubt at all.

Grimes unleashed.

Leader of men, off and on the pitch.

He knows how to get the very best out of his players, knows how to set them up and has the vision and tactical adroitness to play to individual and collective strengths as the match unfolds. The players respect and respond.

Last night was just a taster. He now needs to kick on.

I said this in a previous thread when he was playing under Potter, he looks a completely different animal when given license to play it forward without having to keep possession at all costs.

I missed this game so had to settle with the extended highlights but Grimes did seem to be at the centre of everything we did.

Best game for a long while.

Let's see if Russ leaves the shackles off for him in our next game, I doubt he will.

He played well, credit when it's due. Shame these threads don't appear that often.
