Melker Widell

What a lovely lovely lad,I’ve spoken to him a couple of times and he’s an utter diamond.
I broke the ice at the Derby game when he was injured by asking him if he liked ABBA,he said yes so I told him the story that I’d heard Johnny Rotten tell on his spoken word tour,Rotten said that the Sex Pistols were in Reykjavik Airport in the vip lounge and ABBA arrived,Sid Vicious went over to say hello and threw up all over them.
He had no idea who I was talking about so I messaged him some Pistol vids on Instagram,he came over to me on Saturday and said that he’d watched the videos and wasn’t quite sure what was going on. 😂

On a side note I looked over to the bench about 20 minutes into the game last night and he was singing along with the East Stand. 🤣

Watching Melker on the bench is sometimes more interesting than what is going on the pitch. Absolutely infectious personality, he is the first to jump up when we attack, first to celebrate when we score, last to leave the field as he thanks the fans.

You can often see him clapping along. Superb

I have had the pleasure of chatting to this lad. As well as an obviously talented youngster, he has zero ego and is such a genuinely engaging person. Breath of fresh air. What a signing he turned out to be under a coach who recognises his value.

His attitude on and off the pitch is exactly what you want from any player. This is a compliment but I don't think we've seen anywhere near his best yet. His off the ball work is brilliant but I think he's getting better and better on the ball every week. I think we will see him add goals to his game and when he does he will have people taking real notice of him.

Based on the opening post statistics why the f**k isn't Matos starting Melker away from home.
I think he will tomorrow. With Widell being injured and working himself back. I'm betting he will start.
