Sheffield Wednesday have terminated the contracts of manager Garry Monk and his staff with immediate effect.

Monk joined the Owls in September 2019 and has since overseen 58 games.

Chairman Dejphon Chansiri told swfc.co.uk: “I feel the time is right to make a change and I wish Garry and his team all the best for the future.

“I would like to say thank you for the time and effort Garry and his staff have committed to Sheffield Wednesday.”

The club will be making no further comment at this time.

Tell you what though, from listening to his co-comms it seems likely that Kristian O'Leary was the smartest one of the bunch when they were here. Been very impressed with his input in games. Much better than listening to Wyndham Evans.

In fairness to KOL the first time he did it I wasnt convinced but he is good and gives a better balance to the discussion which is better than outright bias. :mrgreen:

I wouldn't write him off just yet, he is still a very young manager, he has managed five clubs, all big clubs, if he has the self belief to carry on he could still become a success, he might have to drop down a few levels, a club like Wrexham

Wouldn't surprise me at all if he is the swans manager again sometime

Just wish for once a club would say
'we've sacked Joe Bloggs because he was absolutely shit, had a terrible relationship with the players and was an absolute cock to the non playing staff. Can we respectfully suggest he pursues another career before he pulls another club down to his level'
