• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

In 1986 I moved from Birmingham to London to advance my career in the world of commercial insurance. The City was the place to be and the way the market worked back then involved lots of contact between underwriters and brokers. Not going to lie, there was more than a few "business lunches" too.

One of the first brokers I met was Steve Redgwell. He was good company on a personal.level and a fair adversary in business dealings. Steve is a similar age to me and we got married around the same time and had families at the same time too.

Our paths crossed often and the odd "business golf day" was had. Steve has always been a positive character and always up for a challenge. In my last role, Steve ended up being one of my bosses.

Last week I learned that around 4 years ago Steve was diagnosed with MND. To say I was stunned is an understatement. Nevertheless, Steve's positivity and determination to meet this dreadful affliction head on is quite remarkable. He has teamed up with a charity Challenging MND and has organised a fundraising 11km walk along the south bank of the Thames in October. He set out to raise £25k for the charity and has smashed the target. He is now looking at £100k target and has set up a Just Giving page here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/steven-redgwell1?utm_source=Sharethis&utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=steven-redgwell1&utm_campaign=pfp-email&utm_term=72ffdc0b969545b1adb3f79850baf028.

I realise that none of you good folks on PS know me or Steve, but if you can find a couple of quid to help Steve towards his target then that will be very much appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

I will donate when home very worthy cause
