We haven’t had a music thread on here for a while. I think most here know that I’m a jazz fan, but my tastes are far ranging.
Rock and Prog Rock were early interests too, I can even own up to buying a Barry Manilow album 🤫 a very long time ago.
What are other PS contributors music tastes?
Daran need not reply as we all know about his choices 😉. Only kidding.

Doing so well until owning up to Bette's pianist, im listening to Trombone Shorty at the moment. Also if you like a good guitarist check out Tom Bukovac youtube channel, and a band called Trigger Hippy.

Today in my car is Sticky Fingers which contains possibly my favourite Stones song in Moonlight Mile.

If you carry on putting up Cheap Trick videos I’ll put up lots of JAZZ vids. 😂

I haven't taken much notice of the music scene since I was in college. My tastes vary depending on my mood, but artists like Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Metallica, 2pac - 90s gangsta rap will always be favourites. I can also appreciate singers like Sia who has an amazing voice. The most recent 'new' band that have grabbed my interest have been Heilung.

Complete and utter wank.

Like the OP (I suspect), I'm of an age where rock, electric blues and prog rock were my early influences. Bands like Cream, Led Zeppelin, Man, Pink Floyd and my all time faves, Yes. Covid allowing, I'll be over to the UK in May to see the Steve Howe version of Yes performing in the Albert Hall.

I've mellowed a bit since then, I like a lot of classical and have even bought a few jazz albums under the influence of the Harry Bosch novels of Michael Connelly (Art Pepper, Miles Davies, etc) but I'm also going back and re-acquiring albums I had on vinyl donkey's years ago. My latest two CDs on order are Dark Side of the Moon and Five Bridges by the Nice.
Did anyone see that TV programme the other night about the history of Welsh comedy? What made me think of that was another long lost vinyl album I had, but I won't be re-ordering: Max Boyce Live at Treorchy!

I’ll be 68 in a few months so I suspect by your choices we aren’t too far apart in age. Also very similar band favourites, you could maybe try some different jazz artists such as Tower Of Power.

The music library on my phone include :- Bee Gees, Billy Fury, Billy Joel, Celine Dion, Diana Ross, Don Henley, Garth Brooks, George Jones, George Michael, George Strait, Glen Campbell, Gordon Lightfoot, James Taylor, Matt Monro, Tony Bennet, Rod Stewart and Willie Nelson... also a bit of classical and, of course, Cheap Trick. 👍

Similar taste to Mute and Pego being a 64 year old. Listening to the Black Crowes recently who came after bands like Free who I loved but I really like them.

Anything really, that transports you to another place, rock, pop, indy, classical. It doesn't really matter.
The best thing about music is that you can pick a genre to match your mood.👍
