Number of times v Blackburn and again tonight that Wood was caught wrongside of an attacker.
Bloke behind me was positive wood played an absolute blinder of a game.
Blinder of a header that even shearer would have been proud of.

As far as I'm concerned, Martin has bought a defender that can't defend.
In fact, we have a manager who was a defensive player yet he can't teach our shower how to defend.
And as for teaching game management.

Why are we suprised that pup let go by one of our Division rivals is not setting the world alight?

I think Ben made a big difference against Blackpool in both penalty areas. He should have had an assist for an Oba goal from 2 yards and his determination to win 2 big headers in our box started the move that got us our goal. If Ben wants to win a header, 99 times out of 100 he will win it irrespective of who is in the way and that is instinct not coached. I think for his og last night, seen from behind the goal, he appeared to slip onto his arse as he made contact and the ball didn't go where he'd planned. Very unlucky.

Thought Wood was outstanding last night. Love Cabango and like the look of Darling also. I can't remember a time in recent years we've had a plethora of options at CB, it's great. Just wish we had a few more options out wide. Apparently Wood can operate at RB also.

It's just a shame despite such good centre halves we've conceded five in two home games already!

Thought he was decent last night, looked very good in the first half I thought. Just seen the OG back on the highlights though and wow that's bad. No idea what he's even trying to do there.

Pfft, name me another player that could score such a fantastic far post header. Andy Carroll is holding his beer.

Nathan "dead" Wood has a truth to it.

Could even have said a 'cornucopia'!

I see potential in Wood but right now he will get caught out of position or make a mistake at least once or twice every game. The chance in the first half where he let the ball bounce he was only saved by his pace getting back in time for a recovery tackle.

As for the own goal? Yeah there were so many ways that he could have dealt with it compared to the way he did. An experienced defender would have just gotten and stayed goalside of the attacker so that they couldn't reach the ball and let it flash across and out for a goal kick.

EDIT
Could be worse, he could be Harry Maguire.
