New away venue

Not sure why a visit to High Wycombe causes so many hearts to flutter.

A soulless "posh" town who's main attribute is its easy to get to London to work .

Give me the likes of Rotherham ,Barnsley and Hull any day, although Hull might well be falling through the floor

We played Wycombe over 2 legs in the "Autoglass Trophy Final - Southern Section" in March 1994.

Cheers knew I had been there for a semi final.

Went there one season when we beat them 1-0 with Andy Robinson scoring. Think they were top of the league at the time.

And an anti-football side too. Good luck to them, but they'll make for grim watching.

The last time we played at Adams Park was in a preseason friendly about 5 years (ish) ago, against Reading

I think Reading used the ground for training or their U21s or something and had agreed to play a preseason there with funds going to Wycombe.

Been to watch the Swans at Wycombe twice:

1. The Autoglass Southern Area Final March 22nd 1994. We won the first leg on St David’s Day 3-1 and lost the second leg 1-0. Went on the United Welsh buses (with the T.I.T.s). We were stuck on a trading estate for ages and some people got out and walked. They had all the mod cons on getting into the away terrace (at that time) metal detectors and all that sh*t. Sold Jackforever a can of Trent Bitter after the match for £2.50 (bloody marvellous).

2. The second visit was in 2004 and we won 1-0. I was teaching in London, so I met the boys up in Wycombe. I had purchased a nice new Ralph Lauren bomber jacket for £90 in Selfridges the morning of the match. I think I recall we had around 900 fans in their new away all seater stand,

When fans are allowed back they allocate 2,000 in the away end and an extra 315 tickets in their main (small stand). Not sure if the extra tickets will be available in the Championship. That is if and when fans can return.

Congratulations to Wycombe Wanderers on their promotion to the Championship this evening. Nice and near for me to see the Swans next season! I’ve seen Swans play there in the past, many years ago.

I was probably on the same bus as you for the autoglass game, if my memory is correct there was a torrential downpour & there was some concern the game might get cancelled.

Tenko (David Morgan) run TITS buses?
