• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Nyland - recently released by Villa is without a club, at 30 he'd offer some experience and keep his fitness up for his next full contract. Because of his international status and recent UK employment bringing him in shouldn't be a problem.
Only a suggestion - no rumours.

Our defence is outstanding but, and I refer to many many posts, the weak spot is Woodman. Two good shot stopping performances recently but, as was mentioned in commentary, should have done better for the Watford goal. All that is good IMO but much debate over his distribution and command.

Totally unfair criticism - no defence can be as solid as ours with a weak link. End of story.

And I hate to break this but goalkeepers sometimes let in goals. Sometimes we believe they should have done better. Sometimes they should have done.

But show me a player in our team in the course of history that never made a mistake.

You don't need to be naturally negative, Woodman is more than good enough for what we need.

I'm totally with Badlands on this one. We are looking at Premier League next season, and Woodman simply isn't good enough.

It's not end of story - just your opinion, and I don't agree with it.

I'm not Woodman's biggest fan but he's decent enough at this level. Suggest we cross the bridge of worry about whether or not he's up to the Prem if/when we get back there.

So is Hamer under contract with Hudderfield or not?

He played in their last game, yet we're signing him on a free!? Is he on a pay as you player deal with them or something?

Maybe Huddersfield just want him off their wage bill. Think their parachute payments are due to end soon.

But he'd have no incentive to leave them unless we were willing to at least match what he has at Huddersfield. If he's on a wedge that they want to be free of, I can't see us taking it on. Especially for a second choice keeper? Assuming that's what he'll be

decent experienced keeper who starts at this level on a free is great business

Very mixed views at best and talk of his wages being extortionate. Strange move

But you have just created a different argument.

Whether he is good enough for the PL is a different one altogether and not sure anybody has suggested that he is? Interestingly you could say the same about several members of our first choice XI surely does that mean we replace them now and build a PL squad in the Championship?

He's excellent at this level and suits us perfectly. There's are the odd mistake when a ball goes through him where you'd expect him to do better, but some of his reaction saves have been first class. And for a young keeper he's a noisy bugger and not shy of ordering the defenders around. As you say, you can't be critical of anyone in our defence this season based on how they've played. (Except Naughton when he takes 15 minutes to take a throw in!).
