• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

The "bigger picture" he mentions is that he's the 4th longest-serving manager in the division but we've made little to no progress towards his fairy tale vision since the first international break in September 2021. Three of our last 4 wins have come against 10 men. Less than a point per game since October. Managers frequently get sacked with better form in this division, and yet he's being asked about a new deal by his media mates?

I hope the club are lining up his replacement already. Once we get to safety, send Russ on his way and let the new manager have a few games at tail end of season to look at the squad before the summer.
We can hit the transfer window and next season running then.

The media are being very soft on him, especially given the form the team is in. I wonder what they get in return?

I also wonder if it's a coincidence that a lot of the stories leaked out of the club tend to either deflect the blame from his actions or provide him with excuses.

Bit confused with him saying if we keep improving.
That seems to indicate we are getting better.
I wouldn't even say we've stagnated.
So where have we improved? Anyone help here?

Figures.

Unfortunately they won't sack him so he can take his turgid football elsewhere.

For the first time in 20 years I haven’t renewed my season yet.
I just can’t bring myself to part with my money (just like the owners) to watch another season of this cr@p.
I’ve never missed so many games as I have this and last season, because of the walking football, comedy defending, and the general boredom of MARTINBALL
Russell Martin seems like a nice fella, but he is totally immersed in promoting his own agenda ie. Look at me, I can be the next Pep Guardiola, even though the players I have brought in, plus those in situ, don’t possess the skills to actually play that way. But hay ho, I’m going force them to pass it out from the keeper anyway, even in the most dangerous of situations.
I haven’t seen a poorer defensive unit in a Swans shirt, since Cussack was manager.
Considering RM was a centre back, how come he’s so poor at setting up a defence?
He just doesn’t learn from his mistakes, and for me personally, I’ve had enough of him.

The only positive hes given us are wins over the scum. Fair question would be.....if he hadn't would he still be here ?
