New Manager

I don't buy in to this narrative.

Just look at Eustace leaving a team in the play offs to take over a team deep in relegation trouble.

This club presents a huge opportunity for the right person. We have a decent training ground and youth set up.

It's not all doom and gloom like some want to portray.

Complete different situations.

Derby looked dead and buried and having only got promoted last season from League one, he'd have had assurances that he'd keep the job if they did go down. And they'd be a big club at league one and probably come back stronger. Also not forgetting the Venkys at Blackburn.

If we're such an enticing proposition, why has it taken us at least a month to appoint a new manager on the last 2 occasions?

It's this type of complacent attitude and not waking up to the reality of the situation displayed in your post that seems to have infested the club and leading us to sleep walk to league 1.

As we've learned since relegation. We have two types of manager:

1. Useless, who will be sacked within a year.
2. Good, who will be poached within a year or two.

Martin was an exception, as he covers points 1 and 2.
Russ was and is a terrible manager and a terrible egoist

Not that we didn't already know but if anyone was in any doubt about how badly this club is being run the manager situation is that in a nut shell

Starting to rock the boat is someone else's perception.

All I seem him doing is stating the

Saying Sheehan is 'starting to rock the boat' is being a little dramatic.

He's said the same thing throughout his short tenure as caretaker, that, in his opinion, it's best for the club to have a new manager in place before the end of the season as we're down 3 members of 1st team staff when Luke and co left, with people from U-21s coming up to help out. That's not an ideal situation to be in through to May when you're fighting for survival. It's a perfectly rational thing to say, and he's been consistent with it all along, he's not 'starting' to do anything.

Now, should he deflect those questions and say to journos that they need to speak to Montague about that side of things, that he's just thinking about taking the next game etc? Probably, yes. But let's not get too tabloid about what he's been saying.

I don't think when he was appointed he publicly came out and said the club need to appoint more staff. I agree it's not a huge deal, I never said it was. But he has started saying some more pointed statements recently.

You've missed the point.

All I seem him doing is stating the obvious.

I'm not saying he's justified in doing so or not (maybe it's what the club needs to hear) but he's certainly said things publicly when he didn't need to. He's not being an entirely compliant little caretaker is he

Again it comes down to how some perceives his comments.

Totally agree. The problem we have had is inept managers and people behind the scenes for a while. Any talented manger, be that who is looking to be with us to grow and build there own CV should think what we have produced. I know alot of people don't like us to be seen as a stepping stone but look at the jobs our previous e managers have gone onto. Any young talented coach should jump at opportunity.

Those days are long gone. Our last 2 appointments certainly haven't gone onto better things. Martin did but probably only due to his own propaganda and our ownership sued him. Cooper was a good find, but also fell out with the owners. Potter was decent also, but that was a long time ago now. If you want to look prior we're looking at Carvalhal, Clement and Bradley. Shambolic.

So of the 3 mildly successful managers appointed in the last 12 ish years, 2 publicly fell out with the ownership.

Bear in mind the likes of Eustace and Chris Davies (both doing well) have both turned us down in recent years and ended up joining clubs either lower than us or clubs known to have financial issues.

To be fair, both Eustace and Davies turned us down due to personal issues.

Eustace would have been here if it wasn't down to location.
Davies was all in until a close member of his family got cold feet and didn't want to return to the area.

Well at the end of the day we weren't attractive enough. If we had have been I'm sure they'd have overcome these issues.

I get what you are saying but these issues were never going to sway them.

The Chris Davies one was a real shame, it was all go and the decision was taken out of his hands.

The complete lack of communication on this is symptomatic of the utterly ridiculous incompetence at the heart of the club. And similarly the ridiculous waste of space that is now the Trust.

And they wonder why there is no one there on match day.

Tell fans what is happening. Keep Sheehan til the end of the season, or don’t. Appoint a permanent manager or say why this is not happening. This radio silence is killing the club.

Utter morons.
