• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Some clubs have already sounded out a successor prior to sacking a manager and appoint within days.

Others have a succession plan in place and appoint their first or second choice within a week or two.

The Swansea City way though is seemingly have no prior plan, bumble through wasting a month and probably end up appointing the caretaker (who everyone realises isn't the answer), give out mixed messages throughout.

And yet we're told poster like mediocrity Andy Cole and Andy Coleman that we have these strategic masterminds at the club driving us forward.

Yet another shambles.
You're not wrong, but those clubs hardly every have a shake up in hierarchy like we have had......

We cant have our cake and eat it, Coleman is out (positive), new manager is pending (negative). Lets just get through the season and reassess.

I do agree, I was happy when Levein and Kaplan left and am prepared to give Cravatt / Cohen / Morse / whoever else a chance.

But even the most rose tinted swans must admit that their tenure is not going well.

They put or allowed Coleman to remain chairman when he was pretty poor under K&L and that lead to the shambles of a transfer window (yet another). Now they've all had to admit that Coleman and his crony Gude needed to step away but that was announced after they'd sacked the manager.

I'm glad they're restructuring, but yet again it seems such a mess (the club statement recently about who is doing what role now is mindboggling) and the timing was within their control.

Exactly, so if we can see that with our care for the club, imagine how obvious it must be for everyone else looking in.

The reality is its probably putting off decent candidate applying or showing interest. Need to survive this, wait for people to show interest when we are safe, and go from there. Lets not appoint some dross in desperation. Not defending the long game, just saying it may reap more rewards than rushing (y)

To be fair a lot of people expected him in charge until the season ends.

I don't think there is much choice at this point but to appoint him until end of season unfortunately

One thought, he wants to bring in 2 coaches which is understandable.
As a club though, if, and it is if he is not long term would the club employ extra staff where a new coach might want his own people.
Again if he can bring in 2 are they available as the clock is ticking to the end of the season.

This was always going to happen, just as well we have very winnable home games after Saturday...
I'm wondering if that played part in their thinking?

He knows the players, players know him, no point upsetting the apple cart between now and the end of the season.

Next season is a completely different story.

They might be offered short term contracts between now and the end of the season is my thinking,

It will be interesting to see if he gets the coaches he wants or who they'll be. Surely as you say they'll have to be temporary appointments for now.
