So it appears they have found Mayes kryptonite.. the rain. Cant throw a wet ball. Last time it rained the same thing happened.

I'll admit my bias, but the Seahawks are looking frighteningly good. The Darnold / Smith - Ngijba link is looking incredible.

As a 49ers fan who knows the season has been wrecked by ridiculously bad injuries, I'm pinning my hopes on Darnold falling apart in the playoffs like he did last season...

Delighted with Sunday's game. Looked the most like last year's Lions. MCDC taking over the offensive play calling really benefitted the team and they were on fire. Green Bay going down to the Eagles this morning has put us back on top in the division. Another big game on Sunday night now against the Eagles.

Bizarrely the Packers are down to third as the Bears unlikely charge continues and they are level at the top with the Lions.
Super competitive division.
On the west coast a massive game as the Rams play the Seahawks next week - and the Eagles Lions game is another heavyweight classic

Im watching the rerun from last night and it struck me what a crap shoot the draft actually is. Everyone had Maye pegged as a may(e)be. Turns out hes the best QB from that draft hands down.(He was drafted after both Caleb Williams and Jayden Daniels) It takes time for these things to develop though. Hes playing like a seasoned vet.
I am amazed by the transformation under Vrable. I only hope it lasts.

The 2021 draft is another great example. Trevor Lawrence goes first and is predicted to be a can't miss guaranteed superstar, a la Peyton Manning. Instead he's been middle of the pack at best.

Zach Wilson goes second and flames out with the Jets before failing to get on the field with his subsequent teams. The Niners trade up and take Trey Lance (when they seemingly initially wanted Mac Jones, who they could have had without trading away all those picks), who looks woefully unprepared for the NFL and is unlikely ever to become a starter in the league.

The Bears take Justin Fields at 11 and his ceiling seems to be low-end starter at best. While the Pats take Mac Jones at 15 and he has a great rookie season before fading. He's showing this year with the Niners (ironically) that he's certainly good enough to be a starting QB and is possibly a better player than the can't miss number 1 pick.

Two years later, the 49ers take a flyer on a QB with the final pick of the draft and he has more success than any of those listed above. Crap shoot is the right description.
