Stayed up and watched the game, but cannot cope with the razz and commercials, so I dip in and out. Dominant performance but wasn’t in the bag (for me) until well into the Q4. The whole team all seem like a bunch of level headers with a genuine respect for each other. The Pats have a decent defence but weren’t allowed to conjure enough offensive plays, they couldn’t even get into positions for field goals. Yeah, just a dominant display. Superb!

I’m glad that I stuck it out and saw a few decent plays in the 4th quarter. If you love defence you saw lots and lots of decent plays.

Game went how you'd expect really. Absolutely brutal for the rookies on the left of the Patriots OL (and therefore Maye who was bullied all night). That Seahawks defence is nasty (their punter was nailing everything as well).

There was a time as the 3rd quarter went on where everyone watching was wondering if we were going to get some really weird stats/records coming out of this one - at that point, there were no TDs, the Seahawks kicker had scored every point, and the Pats had 0. I was wondering if they'd have to give the kicker the MVP award - how can you not give it to the guy who scored every single point in a SB?.
A lot of the development of my understanding of the game over this season has come through realising how important the O-line is to firstly the offense and then the team. The Lions lost centre Frank Ragnow and really suffered through the season alongside LT Taylor Decker being out with injury on times. GOff as a pocket passer definitely struggled as it collapsed around him. It looked on times that Maye was struggling with teh same.

No complaints here. When I checked the score at half time I figured type of game it was. By far the better team won. Maye can learn a lot from this. Still a kid really. Nothing until April now. See you all at the draft(not literally)
Maye had a tough night, but I thought his two TD throws were out of the top drawer. He will come again.

The Seahawks have traded most of our draft picks away, it paid off this year, but we have some key players who will be unrestricted free agents too (Shaheed, Walker III and Woolen). We look like we have cap space to keep them but if we don't we're gonna be a weaker team next year.

The left-tackle is especially important as they protect the blind-side (for right-handed QBs), so it's especially important to have a good left tackle or else your QB will just keep getting hit and get the jitters. Usually if a team has a good LT they lock them down, the rarely make it to free agency. Unfortunately for Maye, he had a rookie left tackle (Campbell) and rookie left guard, and Campbell especially got rag-dolled by Seattle - I'm sure they saw that as a weakspot and ruthlessly targeted it.

Its emereged that Campbell has been playing with small tear in his cruciate. He was solid until he got injured. Hasnt been the same since. Vrabel poured water on all the speculation that they will need to find a new LT. He has much work to do though. MAye is goi ng to get pounded otherwise. He has already taken too many hits.
