Despite paying little or no attention to latter day European competitions I couldn't help noticing the BBC sport headlines exclaiming that Rangers, West Ham, Eintracht and Leipzig are Europa semi-finalists.

Then I scrolled down and was somewhat puzzled to discover Leicester are also Europa semi-finalists. The Europa Conference? Christ, aren't UEFA even slightly embarrassed by this protectionism?
