Swansea City can confirm Darren O’Dea will be in interim charge of the men’s first team while the recruitment process for a new head coach remains ongoing.

The 38-year-old will lead the Swans following the departure of head coach Alan Sheehan, and will be assisted by Martyn Margetson, Kris O’Leary and Richard Stearman.

As previously outlined, the club will update supporters further on the head coach recruitment process once an appointment has been made.

Strange one knowing he is likely going to be out the door.
I know these things happen but it always baffles me.

Think we would have just been better going with KOL and MM.

Anthony Wright was with Sheehan last time wasn’t he?

I wonder if we’ve done a u-turn on Matos and decided to look elsewhere. If we were close to appointing Matos surely the statement would read that o’Dea would be interim for the weekend.

The fact they’ve left it quite open ended suggests we may not have decided on the new manager yet

This will be O’Dea’s first professional game as a manager.
Brizzle can’t really prepare so may be an advantage but none of us have any clue how he’s going to set up the team.

Going to have a right chuckle if we come out and are a threat attacking with plenty of attempts at goal 🤣
xG through the roof 🫣

All part of the plan for O'Dea train to get the job full time 😂

This is completely theoretical, but if he could repeat Sheehan's caretaker record then i'd be fine keeping him on for an extended period while we look for a manager. Under no circumstance should make him the permanent manager though.

Let's be fair, we will do well to get a point on the weekend.
No Cabango, no Tymon.

I think we should have had some communication earlier than now but we can’t blame the club. They were acting quickly and clearly thought they had Hellberg. 9 days since Sheehan went, if we have Matos in before Derby we won’t have been without a manager for too long.
