Ollie Cooper

I think so but he only played in the League Cup against Crawley so don't know if that counts 🤷‍♂️
Looks like it’s any official/competitive fixture so rules out that option of loaning him back out or selling him.

Key Aspects of the Rule:
  • Standard FIFA Rule: A player can be registered with a maximum of three clubs in a season, but can only play in official matches for two of them.
  • Exceptions for Overlapping Seasons: If a player moves between associations with overlapping seasons (e.g., summer/winter leagues), they might play for a third club.
  • Loan Deals & Transfers: Players on loan might still be recalled, and a player whose contract is cancelled by one club can then sign and play for another.
  • Recent EFL/National League Changes: Rules have been updated, allowing players to play for two clubs in the same national league in a season, which previously might have made them cup-tied.
  • Grassroots Football: Rules vary widely; some local leagues allow dual registration for players playing different days (e.g., Saturday/Sunday) or even three teams if in different formats.
In essence: The limit is usually two played for, but registration with three (often involving loans) is common, with specific league rules adding layers of complexity, particularly around cup competitions.

He's staying with us in that case, I'm surprised we've brought him back

Maybe this recall was due to Ronald being out and injury being longterm? What you will get with Cooper is he will chase people down and get fouls. It might actually suit him under Matos and maybe he has one eye also on Wales Squad for World Cup?
