Our League form

We drew Saturday away to the team currently in 6th spot, most would agree we should have won. Today we lost away by a single goal to the team currently in 4th spot, most would agree we should have had a draw, possibly won.

We do need to start winning, thats for sure, but we are not as bad as some are screaming about.

Maybe we need a change, to change our fortune, but he's not a disaster (yet)
Yes but that makes it worse, because anyone watching those games saw how poor those teams were, and by extension how poor the league is. Ditto Millwall, Hull and Boro when we played them. And yet here we are in 17th. I’ll say that again, the league is average at best, and we’re 17th. It’s just not good enough to pretend the last two games against that shower of shite is any sort of achievement. Not having it.

Sheehan, and the players need to up their game. Knuckle down in training. Maybe do some extra sessions eh? And sort it. We’re not great, but good enough to easily be top 10.

We won’t be doing extra sessions he’s already said today and tomorrow will be recovery based.

I am a bit worried that if we do sack him in the international break, we will have to potentially compete with Southampton, Norwich, Middlesbrough, and Leicester for a manager.

It took us months to find a manager the last 2 times, and that was when there was 0 competition. Now we'll have to deal with 4 very reputable clubs with a very good budget for this league.

This isn't me advocating for keeping him. It's maybe a sign that we should have made this decision earlier and not got into this dog fight with clubs who can offer more than us.

Why would we have made the decision earlier when we have been plum mid table for most of it?

Because some 'fans' had made up their mind about Sheehan very early in the season (or even before that if they wanted someone else in the summer) and they won't stop going on about it.

I do wonder what their excuse will be if we sack Sheehan and are just as middling under another manager? My guess is some will register under new usernames and others will say it's the club's fault for making another wrong appointment. Maybe one or two would admit that these players aren't as good as they claim.

On the flip side of that, if we did appoint another manager and he gets these players to the level they can apparently achieve, I'll hold my hands up and admit I got it completely wrong.

Some clubs sack a manager and have a new manager in place 48/72 hours later.

If our owners sacked Sheehan and then started looking around for his replacement, it would be irresponsible.

Always puzzles me when a club sack its manager without a replacement lined up.

To be honest, in my little fantasy football world, I wouldn’t allow any mid season changes in players or managers. You assemble your squad and pick your manager before the first game and all subsequent movements are allowed only in the close season. Job done. No pissing about, no speculation no unrest, just get on with it.

As it is, I really couldn’t care if he stays or goes. I will not be bothered either way, as I really do think the shout is 50:50 in its chance of better or worse over the rest of the season. Let the clockwork gorringe make the shout. That’s his job.

Agreed, Mon.
I would close the transfer window before a ball is kicked at the start of the season as well.

After watching the Gorringe interview the other day, he’s probably got Sachin Tendulkar lined up and ready to go.

If they want their original target Hellberg then his team finishes their league campaign on the weekend.

Who will be in charge of a new manager search? I do not know Bristol Rovers manager history. Did anybody who was there go on to big success who may still have links to Gorringe and come into the picture?
