• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

If it hadn’t been for the Covid postponements he would have triggered the new contract anyway by playing 25 games before the January transfer window opened. Sounds as if he may be trying to take advantage by saying it’s being triggered early and therefore the expectation of a big pay rise. The fact the transfer window is now open is also clearly a factor.

Even if he was promised better terms and didn't the get them (which is wrong and have sympathy), it's not like his money has been reduced, he's still earning far more than what the few other clubs that were interested in him in the summer would play.

So unless there's something really silly like the trigger year being on less money, you don't act like this and shaft the fans.

Knuckle down, keep playing and plead your case in private. He isn't on the bread line.

This saga isn’t playing out well for anyone - the fans, the club or the player. Surely there are enough wise old heads at the club (Winter & Allen) to have managed this better?

There's no quotes from Patterson or the club. Apparently it's coming from BBC sport Wales.

I'm not saying there isn't some truth to this but then I can't help but feel that the local Welsh (Scumdiff) media are stirring shit up because the capital of Wales team are doing worse than us.

What makes me laugh is the BBC sport website report saying that he came out of isolation just last Wednesday and implied that he could of been involved in the Huddersfield match day squad.

Are you fucking kidding me? There's no way he'd be match fit and that's not enough time to train beforehand like his team mates.

Still wait and see if more develops.

The covid thing may be true. I came out of isolation and first game back was fine but second game my chest hurt. Apparently it hangs around for a month and I am two weeks in.

I have no idea about the contract extension or why that would become public. Patterson could easily claim he is not ready yet. I guess stranger things have happened.

Can't see him playing again after this. Personally don't think the tactics at West Brom suit him as well and can't see them going up automatically, but that's where he wants to go it seems, and there's no point trying to force him to stay. It's certainly very bad news for us, probably bad for his career as well. No point crying over spilt milk, it's done, so might as well sort out his move and get someone in as soon as.

While I hope you're right, the likelihood for someone like Patterson is that he's not going to get really ill from Covid even if he wasn't vaccinated. There's a good chance he would have been able to work on his fitness while with Covid. Even if he hasn't been vaccinated and did have symptoms, he's unlikely to have been ill after say the 3rd day. From my experience, the only ones who have been ill after 3 or 4 days are those who have had to go in to hospital, or have come close to it.
