• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Assistant coach for Brazil. How did he do for the Swans? How will he do with Brazil ?

He signed Tom Carroll and Sam Clucas.

What do Brazil know that the Swans missed. ?

Obviously kidding. Maybe a decent coach but a shite manager.

Made and still making a very good living out of it though.

Plenty of shit managers have made a decent living out of football in fairness.

As a first team coach Clement was limited but effective at a no frills style that would get results if he had a decent forward and a provider to supply said forward, at least at the time that he was with us.

He wasn't helped though by the owners endorsing selling our two top scorers and top assist provider in Llorente and Sigurdsson and replacing them with absolutely nothing.

33% win record for us.
Tbf 33% win rate keeps you up in the Premier League (even without drawing any matches)

Went horrendously wrong in his his second season but the rot had set in before his arrival - not sure his managerial style helped though!

Obviously decent coach to have worked with Ancelotti for so long though.

I just had to check the stats .

He signed Wilfred Bony who scored 25 goals in 54 matches first time around.

3 goals in 22 matches second time round.

I loved him first time round.

In fairness everybody thought it was a coup to sign Sanches on loan
You wouldn't find any journo or fan who thought it was a weak signing at the time
I agree, he did go on to hit a decent bit of form and I think Liverpool were interested, but not sure what happened after that, just looked him up

"Renato Júnior Luz Sanches ComM is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Greek Super League club Panathinaikos, on loan from Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain"

Signed on loan to us in August 2017

I remember being at Palace. Curt’s last game as caretaker manager. Clement had already been confirmed and was in the stands. Rangel scores. Clement runs down steps and makes it look as if he was giving advice to Curt for the cameras. Never took to him from that moment on. Fuck him !

“Clement recorded his first victory as Swansea boss with a 3–2 win over Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool. Clement was named Premier League Manager of the Month for January after a successful first month in charge, earning nine points in four games . Under his guidance, Swansea won 26 points from 18 games, ultimately securing the club's Premier League status.”

Down hill from here- but we had sold Siggy and Llorente.

It was worse than that. He made it all about him at 1-0 up after we’d controlled the game until half time. He then headed for the box pontificating and having a toss in public and we went all negative and stopped playing. If not for Rangel’s last minute improbable heroics (which I bet he was told never to do again…settle for 1-1 like the following season at WBA), Palace would have drawn a game we should have won comfortably, and I think we’d have gone down. Another in the line of ‘shape, badgemen, anti football’ Mourinho copiers…the Pep football poison of his day
