Bloody hell, that came out of the blue, great player and iirc he was a lancashire lad.

RIP Paul.
 
Ipswich is the team I root for but don't remember his time there. Started supporting the club some time after he left but he was a great player for the team along with names like Brazil, Wark , Muhren, Thijsenn, Mills etc. We should have won the League in the early 1980s but got involved in too many competitions and sort of lost our focus and nerve towards the end of league seasons.

I was upset to hear the news today, players like that were hard to find and he brought a lot to the team and helped took a club name from being a good team to the verge of a great one. Condolences to the Mariner family.
