People Have No Shame

And that's the crux of things right there.

Can’t blame them really can you? I wouldn’t give up the opportunity to do what I’d worked towards all my career just to appease many people who don’t usually give a shit about all the issues in Qatar that they now claim to feel deep shame and remorse about.

I love the Beeb but they need to give it a rest now amd concentrate on the football. They’re spending half time of France v Australia boring the nation about whether the World Cup is carbon neutral or not. Spoiler - it isn’t.

I don't blame them no, especially the Welsh after all these yrs waiting for another opportunity to play at a World Cup.

Yeah but Neville spouting off his bollox on Bein whilst sitting alongside three misogynistic c*nts is next level hypocrisy.

Can't disagree with that either, I knew nothing of Qatar before and I still know very little about the place, it just gets a bit galling with all those presenters etc, voicing their displeasure whilst earning plenty out there, are they gonna stump up chunks of their earnings to help those affected, I wonder?

Aye I forgot about your long history of caring about misogyny.

It’s telling that Keys and Gray now earn their living in a country where misogyny is the normal state of affairs. They fit right in there.

What’s Gammon most concerned about here - Keys and Gray working for the Qataris or the Qataris giving Keys and Gray a job???

Why wouldn't they go out there, they are doing their job. And two of those that you mention are a massive thorn in the side of Qatar, the way they are calling them out on the Tv and on their social media accounts. Don't underestimate the power of famous people and their social media activities.

Now, if the football associations got together and done a boycott, that would really send a message out. Don't send teams, and don't report on it. But we are where we are now.

I would have fully supported Wales, England, Netherlands (and the other couple of teams) if they had defied FIFA and worn the One Love armbands. Then if the ref booked the captains, the captains lead the teams off the pitch and refuse to play. But I fully understand that for the players this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to play in a World Cup.

Aww c'mon. Do you really believe elite professional sportsmen and sports teams would jeopardise their once in a lifetime opportunity ? For (almost) anything ?

Some folk need to get some proper perspective. Right now, especially.

World's going madder. Unless it's called out. Now.

Did you miss his last sentence or something? You're literally repeating him in your first sentence above.

If the European FAs that were going to wear an armband, have the emblem sewn onto their shirts and dug out clothing to make their point, ref would have to book around 40 people each side in the 1st half and the same at the start of the second- game abandoned.
How would Qatar and FIFA explain that?
Would have called their bluff.

People having a go at Bein sports when the Beeb have sent an awful lot of staff on taxpayers/ householders with tv's money.
Staff who could have done everything from London like Crisp muncher and the other pundits
Especially as big ears boring cnut is one of the highest paid presenters in the beeb.

Wouldn’t it be great if they had a bit of a rain storm there and a rainbow came out afterwards.

I do feel that the Beeb had nowhere near this much political stuff planned for the programmes, but have felt the need to shoehorn it in last minute in light of the recent outrage. It wouldn’t surprise me if the pundits (Lineker, Neville, etc.) have pushed for it so that they can vindicate their reasons for being out there.
