• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

You know the ones, the anti-vaxxer covid denying weirdos.
Jump in your cars and go down Morriston Hospital.
I’ve just gone down there to pick something up and Jesus Christ I’ve been down there hundreds of times over the years but this is incredible.

I’m hearing that they’re very busy, and I’m also being told the reason why by people who work in a couple of hospitals. I’m not going to state it in here because there’s a polarised view which is highly aggressive and there are already countless threads on the subject elsewhere I could join if I wanted to debate it. I will say though that I am open minded and willing to reserve judgement as I honestly don’t know what the truth is, but when I get accosted in Costa by an old friend who has turned from regular guy in to rabid anti-vaxxer, comparing him and his friends, some of whom work in the NHS apparently, to Jews in WWII and wearing the Star of David I know we’re nowhere near the end of this, covid or no covid.

I have a chum chum who sounds similar to yours. He / they have gone to the lengths of home schooling for kids, and without going into detail it’s a sad story. You’re right, this won’t end soon, maybe even never as it’s always going to be fuelled by wings of extreme news feeds and social media.

As an aside, are you travelling much these days? I didn’t during December but it’s opening up for me next week.

No travelling atm, I made a choice to stay home since September-ish so took up a boring contract for the time being. I must say I’m finding it difficult, even though it is the sensible choice given the way my particular field is affected by cancellations. On Friday I turned down a two week job in Seville and Malaga at the end of January. It hurts to do that but it’s not worth the hassle at the moment because if it gets pulled I don’t get paid, or I get paid very little.

Good to hear things are opening up for you.

Anti vaxxers and vegans bore the shìt outa me, personally I don't care if anyone decides not to get vaccinated or refuse to eat meat or cheese or whatever, but they always want to tell the whole world about thier decisions...

Just fùck off like 👍

What pisses me off about anti vaxxers is that they haven't got the courage of their convictions. Yes, by all means exercise your right to refuse a jab, but if you catch covid and get seriously ill, stay away from the NHS, medical science is evil, remember? You can't have it both ways. Feck off and die in your own house, thereby protecting others and increasing the average IQ in the gene pool.

Had to pop down to Carmarthen Hospital earlier, drove past the glass fronted A&E waiting area and it was packed out as was the car park. Spoke to someone who’d been working there and was told it’s been very busy.
