London-based investment company Carteret Analytics advises three Premier League clubs, and another 12 leading sides from around Europe and the rest of the world, on potential new signings and transfer finances.
Here's their analysis on summer spending so far...
● Total transfer fee expenditure for each of the top five leagues is down in this transfer window, compared to the five-year average.
● Total spending on players in this summer transfer window in the Premier League is currently £1.120bn, which is 13% down on the five-year average. However, it is still over three times as high as the total spending in each of La Liga , Bundesliga and Ligue 1 , and double that in Serie A .
● It is also notable that total spending in each of the other leagues is significantly down so far in this window. In the case of La Liga and Bundesliga, total spend is down by nearly 50% against the five-year average.

So no fans etc and less money coming in, but they still go on blindly while a large percentage of the population face cut backs.
Add to that it's reported that Jadon Sancho and Ben Chilwell surprised Tammy Abraham for his 23rd birthday with 20 guests on Saturday night before meeting up for England training today.
