A Pivotal game, some might say a draw would be ok, if the team has that attitude an automatic spot at the end will be less likely , keep it tight but go for it

Exactly, Swans need to win the majority of matches like this (home game against a promotion rival) to gain an automatic promotion spot.

Not necessarily. Obviously it's a massive help because you gain the 3 points and deny them to a team near you in the table, but we don't need to win the majority of matches like this.

After Brentford, I think the only other immediate promotion rival we have at home is Norwich (you could include Middlesbrough and Brizzle if they're higher in the table when we play them). If we lose tonight and against Norwich but win the majority of the other 21 games remaining, we'd go up easily.

I was surprised how bad Watford were down here, but they're a different team at home. One of the best home records in the league and also one of the worse away.

Nah, they lost to one of the worst teams in the league, managed by a muppet (so sad he's gone, still). They are surviving on a roll of penalties.

100% agree. If we consider ourselves serious promotion contenders then we have to be targeting a win every game.
Of course we will draw or lose occasionally, but we have the self belief to think we can win any game.
Tonight is a massive 6 pointer and I am convinced we will win it

If Norwich beat us and Brentford beat us and both those top teams go onto win the majority of their remaining games, then Norwich and Brentford would go up automatically and we would not.
It's only January and a lot can and probably will happen between now and the end of the season but this game his huge, it might prove to be pivotal.
Whoever wins tonight's game will at that point in time be favourites to go up automatically with Norwich in my book.

Sorry but it isn't a given.
If Brentford win tonight and their game in hand they would have a four point advantage.
If we lose to Norwich they would a ten point advantage.
These really are the games we must win

Or not lose.

If people think our season depends on beating Frankensmegs and Delias I think they might be lining up for some disappointment. I would take two draws and win the following games all day long if it was offered now.

That's not to say I don't WANT to win all four, obviously, but to stake any bets on having to is just not right.

(I have a feeling we WILL win tonight as it goes. We should have won up there)

Fuck me, we're blessed to have your insight on here mind

Big game in the Championship later. Reading vs Bournemouth. Predictions for this?

Not a prediction I know but I want a draw please.

0 - 0

Eight sending offs. A few minor injuries to key players. Both teams charged with bringing the game into disrepute and docked 6 points each.

A draw has to be the best result. It keeps them 2 and 4 points behind, having played a game more.

Failing a draw, would a Reading win (even though it would put them level on points with us) be better, as I'd think Bournemouth might be more equipped to push for the automatic spots? Certainly quite tight up there whatever the result

I think home advantage could just have Reading edge this, either way, if we don't make automatic, I'd be pretty confident of beating both of these over two legs, providing we are in the mix of course 😉
