Pure Swansea FC

I don't know which bit you don't think makes sense? A one team has disappeared and a different one has taken its place but has been allowed to keep its league position?

I have no link to any of these teams or teams in the division below (1 of which should really have taken the place) so I don't have anything to be jealous of.

But I do despise everything that MK Dons stand for and there's obvious parallels here.
It’s the same club. Same teams. Same players. Same coaches. Playing in the same place using the same facilities. It’s now under new ownership. There are literally no parallels to Wimbledon/MK Dons here at all. None.

They’ll still be playing in the same place. For now anyway. I’ll say it again, the uni pulled the funding. The team would have folded.

But is there any actual link to the university now? Besides taking over a decent facility that the uni team used to play on.

Which of course happens to be of Welsh league standard which pure Swansea didn't have previously.

So why the name change, badge change, is there any affiliation to the uni there now at all or is this another deviation?

No there’s no link to the Uni because it’s not Swansea University FC anymore. Because the university didn’t want there to be. They pulled the funding. I don’t know how many times I have to say this. It wasn’t a hostile takeover ala MK Dons.

Right so the ethos of the club has totally changed too. MK Dons started with the Wimbledon players, staff etc too. They even played at Selhurst Park initially. While the name Wimbledon died (just like Swansea Uni FC)

This really isn't a stretch to compare the two. Not sure if you've got a bias to pure Swansea etc but the comparisons are inevitable. I've also heard that they were looking for other senior clubs to take over/ merge with. Just like the eventual owners of MK did, so I don't think this some beautiful philanthropic gesture.

The mk owners wanted a club in MK but didn't want to start from the bottom. Pure Swansea appear to want a senior conduit for their existing youth set up without starting at the bottom.

Is anything I've said here false?

its a massive stretch to compare the two for anyone who knows what they’re talking about. You’d rather have seen the club fold than change ownership and carry on as before. That’s just weird but each to their own.

You're putting words into my mouth, but essentially the club has folded anyway. This is a new club basically with inherited players and staff.

It’s the opposite of that. You can’t just make shit up and pretend they’re facts. That’s trumpian.

What's false about what I said? Swansea University fc no longer exists.

The club that has taken their place in the league has inherited the players, staff and league place. That's all completely factual is it not?

Universities can’t fund football teams any longer - they are desperately trying to fund their pension schemes. Need more wealthy foreign students with dodgy English language skills! Sorry off topic but couldn’t resist.

It’s not really off topic to be fair. Uni pulls funding. Same club finds alternative funding and continues on as before with a different name to reflect the change in funding.
