Questioning Fishy Rishi

It's mental how MPs dodge questions these days. They don't even try to half-answer it and move on to another subject anymore. They literally just start talking about something else.

Drives me nuts. Interviewers should stop the interview if they don’t answer the questions asked and instead talk about what they want to.
I know they wouldn’t get interviews in the future, but if they all did it, the interviewers might get their questions answered and politicians (on all sides) wouldn’t get airtime

When that tw@t was in the jungle he joked about how MPs would congratulate each other on the methods of dodging questions.
Scum the fckn lotta them.

I does make a nice change to see an interviewer batting away the bullshit, he doesn't care if he is talking to the PM, he wants an answer to his question. Well done Colin! :D

This country hasn’t had a prime minister as out of his depth as Sunak so obviously is since, well the last one. And the one before that. Oh, and the two before that as well.

Ah yes the age old problem of not answering a direct question and changing the subject. Of course these politicians think they are very clever, unfortunately, it makes them look like the complete and utter tw@s that they really are. Sorry guys time to change tack it just doesn't wash anymore.

It’s infuriating, really gets on my nerves. The interviewer should keep asking the question and faced with the absence of a suitable response should say something along the lines of “ clearly you are not prepared to answer the question, do you have something to hide?” Follow that up with a comment to the viewers summarising what’s just taken place and inviting the viewer to make their own mind up.

These regional reporters are much better than the national reporters who're too close to the politicians, we saw that from the way the Trusster was grilled.

He’s so thin skinned its unreal. I guarantee he wont do a single televised general election debate when the time comes.

18371 people in the Gower constituency voted for that fascist fran O Brien at the last election. Her comments prior to the election are absolutely vile. How she wasn't deselected is incredulous but yet over 40% of the electorate voted for her.
And we wonder why politicians don't answer questions.

Precis...

“Benefit Street..anyone else watching this?? Wow, these people are unreal!!!”
“My blood is boiling, these people need putting down.”
In further comments under her post, O’Brien endorsed a friend’s suggestion for “twat a tramp Tuesday” to “take your batts [sic] to the streets”.

Ministers go into these set piece interviews (and other events like questions in Parliament etc) with two or three “top lines” that they’re briefed to keep repeating regardless of the line of questioning. They’re instructed by their Spads not to deviate under any circumstances. ‘‘Twas ever thus but previous political generations had the nous and imagination to change tack if they could see it was going wrong. This lot don’t have that skill, it comes from being brought into politics through the party official/special adviser/safe seat/ministerial post route. They only know one way to deal with these things.
