Rob Reiner

Yes I’m sure most of us agree but one of the UK’s finest institutions shouldn’t be splicing bits of an interview together to tell lies.
Hopefully Trump suing them, will be their final nail, in the coffin. If they are that good, then go subscription only, not threatening people to pay up.

With so much choice on other platforms, it’s ridiculous that you can be threatened with fines or jail, for not paying a tv licence fee. I’ve taken a look at BBC Christmas Day lineup, and frankly it’s tripe!

Aw don’t be like that there’s a chap on here that loves Strictly and Call The Midwife.

You can’t go to jail for not paying tv licence.
Not directly, but if you refuse to pay the fine. There’s a very strong chance you will end up there.

Here’s an interesting fact.

  • 1995–2018 (Long-term Trend): In England and Wales, a total of 2,203 people were jailed for non-payment between 1995 and 2018 (1,449 men and 754 women).

Exactly. You can’t to jail to non payment of the TV licence. You can go to jail for not paying a court imposed fine for any offence.

Yes, and as I’ve said, if you point blank refuse to pay for the tv licence fee, and also the fine. Chances are you could go to jail.

So you are going to jail, because you refuse to pay for a tv licence and the fine for not having one. Anyway I think the points irrelevant now, because from what I’ve read they will take it directly from people’s pay or benefits.
