• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Its exactly 2 years and 8 days since quitting smoking, I had a lightbulb moment, when the lady in the shop handed over my packet of 20 and said that'll be £19 pounds please, from that moment I thought fvck that, I've saved a small fortune in those 2 years.👍
33 years for me, had 2 patches after 2 weeks was ok, 6 months later i was gasping for one, snealed a cigar down tho the shed, thoght my head was going haywire after 2 drags, not touched anything since,,,,,saved money no way of knowing , my missis wont tell me!
ps better healthwise? no.

I had to renew my passport recently, and was surprised and relieved at how simple and quick it was, even from Spain. It cost about £100.
I did the initial application online, including Mrs Pego taking my photo with my own phone, which they approve online, then pay online and post the old passport back to them. I did recorded delivery from Pego post office, think it cost about 9€, only took a few days to get there.
I was bombarded with emails from the Passport Office keeping me informed at every stage. The new one came back via DHL couriers within about two weeks, with the old, defunct one following by the same route a few days later.
Can concur, done this more than once, pretty straightforward really

I hate vaping, especially if you're walking behind someone vaping and you get covered in the aftermath of the disgusting stuff, sometimes there's no way of avoiding a cloud of the disgusting shit.
Although If I see someone with one in their hand, I try to give them a very wide berth.

The number of people I see driving and vaping at the same time, holding their vape on the wheel, is incredible. Also see people smoking obviously, but there seems to be more vapers.

Vaping/smoking while at the wheel should be seen in the same way as holding a mobile phone, IMO.

The amount of people vaping who wouldn't go anywhere near a cigarette is mad.

So should eating, drinking, fiddling with your radio / Apple play / satnav, if that was to be the case.

I'm on the road a lot going from job to job and the number of times I get the whiff of cannabis from cars going by is incredible also when standing traffic, that's more of a concern and vapers I'd have thought, but yes I agree with you.

But what you can’t smell is the number of drivers going past that have had a few sherbets. Hopefully they will bring in the new zero limit for drink driving.

That I don’t understand. I use it as a crutch after smoking fags for 40 years and it’s worked a treat for me. It’s the act of inhaling then exhaling the smoke that I needed to replicate when I stopped and vaping does that. I genuinely don’t undertake those who have never smoked suddenly taking up vaping. Thats mental.

Next time you're out and about just look at the people vaping, the amount is nuts.

I do it all the time.

Fair point, I just think that potentially dropping a cigarette in your car/on your lap and the lack of visibility, particularly when people vape and drive, is a higher risk than the things you listed. Arguable, I know.

I still see so many people looking down at phones, particularly when in crawling/low speed traffic. The A465 at rush hour is rife for it.
