Well, they gave their names, date of birth and place of birth. Surprisingly, a lot of records in Russia are publicly accessible so I imagine their identities have already been checked.

They might have been told that but I don't believe that's why they thought they were going there , they are police officers , not some pig farmers from Siberia , most Russians know exactly what's going on especially ones in the big cities

Some will, some won't.

Don't forget, most of these soldiers have been on the border for weeks and months before the actual invasion.

Ukraine has plenty of right wing nutters, that can't be denied , probably like most countries, more so around those parts, that was evident during the Euros in 2012

It's an easy go to for them to create a weak reason for their actions
