Wonder if we will do this and if so how large an area it will be?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, pretty much everyone who wants to stand at our place, does. We've stood in front of our seats, all game long since the stadium opened, and apart from the first season we've never been told to sit.

If it is going to cost the club to carry out modifications (I haven't read the article, but I'm guessing handrails to be put up) then i don't see the point of doing it.

I may be wrong on this front but I seem to recall it being written after one of the fans forums that we werent going to progress down this route (it may even have been in trust minutes)

It'll cost the club dollars to install, won't happen in a month of Sundays.

Indeed it was the Trust minutes. Argument from club was a) too costly and b) would reduce capacity. Not sure about that latter bit, as contradicted the safe standing chap I remember some from the Trust meeting back in the day.

On the standing anyway front, that may be a battle to come. SAG have noted it, and asked for Trust's help to speak to fans. Lead balloon for whoever takes that on IMO and I really don't see how you cut out standing at football in particular parts of the ground.

The report seems to emphasis one person per one standing spot, you can see the issues already as people try to squeeze mates into a spot meant for one.

I think that the away fans will probably force many clubs into doing this as they might find themselves in a tricky situation if they allow fans to stand in seating areas.

I don't want to stand but I'm forced to because it's the only way that I can see the match after the man in front of me (who might be Neath_Jack) stands up. I'm speaking as someone who mainly goes to away matches. And if I'm being forced to stand, I'd much rather it was in a purpose-designed space without a seat behind me to give me a little bit more room

It is definitely the time to bring in safe standing.

Definitely not me Glyn, I'm in row Y, nobody behind me.

Having used my season ticket to get through the turnstiles, I'll settle for the fckn hitlers not demanding to see it again before we get to our seats.

Would like to think we wouldn't be the last to embrace this, the benefits of a standing area is that it gives more freedom to those who want to do so, you don't necessarily need to stand where you're seat is, but the amount of people in the 'terrace' cannot exceed more than 1 person per seat

So if theres people next to you acting like t**ts, then you can move away as there should be space elsewhere, as it generally is at away games.
