Seems imperative to me that we extend his contract.
Also we need to show ambition this coming window and strengthen the squad not weaken it.
As is suggested, no guarantee Paterson will get regular game time elsewhere.
However if a PL team offered him or Piroe their chance then who could blame them for wanting to try it ?
Personally I can't see any of our key players leaving.
Surely Pato and Piroe have Welsh grandparents ?

I would like to think the club put an optional extension in the contract they could trigger whenever they like. Doesn't look like they have unfortunately. I would have thought Paterson would have accepted it as he was hardly in demand in the summer, but maybe he backed himself to do well here and give himself the chance of attracting higher offers in January/summer. Fair play to him if he did, he's earned it.

True and at 29 needs to look for his best financial opportunity when it comes

I thought the club has an option to extend his contract an extra year?

If he does leave wouldn’t mind seeing Scott Twine or Matt O Riley coming in from Mk Dons both having good seasons.

You can bloody see it now can't you. Wales and Jockland are gonna go through to the playoff final and he's going to score the winning goal.

"Surely Pato and Piroe have Welsh grandparents ?"

I am surprised no one has looked into this.
