• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

No, he was replying in the context of me comparing Duff to Steve Cooper, who failed at his brief just as Martin failed, only in a much, much uglier way.

NO I was saying i prefer results over identity
the last 2 seasons were dull...only made bearable by the doube doube....
Seeimg as you brought up the Cooper comparison...at least Cooper got us to the play offs and then in second season the final.......the football wasnt as ugly as.many state had we been allowed in the stadium im sure many would have a different view .....imagine having to endure Martins football under lockdown conditions?

For.me its about results winning games and being in competitions....the last two seasons for me delivered no results and minimal entertainment......unlike the Martinez,Rodgers and Laudrup days....Monks first season we won lots but our style was less but givenme a game where we win ugly over a boring draw where we pass our opposition off the park yet never threaten

You don't half make a lot of assumptions, maybe log off for a bit.

Well to be fair, given he'd directly replied to my comment about Cooper, it's not an unreasonable assumption to make is it.

He's since clarified that he prefers results over style, and then made very clear that on a stylistic level he preferred Cooperball over Martinball.

He's perfectly entitled to that view, I could not disagree more, we agree to disagree.

No need for anyone to log off, chum. Just a perfectly reasonable difference of opinion. That's all.

id rather results over identity.......What identity did we have for the oast 2 seasons......oh yes we had high possession playing in our own half...

I think we’d all like results. My point was more about me not understanding how we’re trying to play to get those results. We showed resilience again today, so that’s a plus.

Fair few teams who you'd think would struggle have started well and already picked up wins. Even the scum have gone close against 2 relegated sides.

Preston up next for us (who aren't a traditional heavyweight) they've got 7 from 9.

Going to be a tough league this season.
