Can't help feeling disappointed by today, thought they were there for the taking second half but we just didn't press them enough but again resorted to keep ball. Having said that Coventry are a very well drilled unit who made it hard for us.

At least we didn't hand them 3 goals on a plate today.

No, I’m someone with a brain.

You happy clappers can enjoy another season of mediocrity all you want. I’m unhappy with that crap we serve up week after week.

Put your hands up if you had heard of Michael Duff before we got him in? Our owners are trying to do everything on the cheap and yet you lot lap it up.

I’m the bluebird because I want the best for our club? Jog on…

No your a miserable bellend Roger, go take your head for a shit.

That was all a bit meh. No pace, no intensity, no zip. Going behind in games is becoming a bad habit and whilst we equalised very soon after, there was no kick on from there. Ineffective use of subs today to add to my frustration.

Coventry looked sharp and their passing was crisp. They will be up near the play offs come May.

Obligatory post match ratings from me:

Rushworth 8 - A few good cross claims, cut out the sloppy mistakes that have shown up in his first few games.
Key 8 - Endless energy and looked a threat the whole game
Wood 7 - Battled well and won plenty of balls, kept the ball well against the Coventry press
Cabango 7 - A nitpicker would say that he let the Coventry forward get the wrong side of him for the goal but would be harsh to blame him
Darling 7 - Great ball over the top for Ashby and is starting to show a bit of a partnership with him, big improvement from last week
Ashby 8 - Has had a frustrating start for us but showed good composure to wait for the perfect time to cross for Yates
Grimes 8 - Plenty of effort from the man with a new deal, looking forward more and more but needs a link man behind the strikers
Fulton 6 - Meant to be the man to help Grimes and link with attack but I felt he went missing for the latter part of the job too much
Patino 7 - Always looking for the ball and looking for a forward outlet. One bad set piece aside his corners again were different gravy
Yates 8 - Always running for the cause, fed off scraps but took his one chance with a great looping header
Piroe 6 - As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I don't think the current formation suits him. Needs someone to feed ball to feet

Allen 6 - Soft yellow to give away minutes after coming on
Cullen 6 - Not much chance to get involved, fantastic corner though with lots of whip and pace
Abdulai 6 - Again no real chance to get involved, defended well
Ginnelly 6 - Only given 5 minutes or so, leading the line I don't think is his strength

Duff 7 - Still think he is finding his best formation and has players still coming in and others who didn't get the preseason time to "jelly". I thought he made the wrong substitutions though and having three holding/controlling midfielders is leaving the strikers isolated and feeding off scraps.

Grimes 8?

Yes, what we did manage to do well almost always went through him.
He was looking forward more than he did under RM. I will iterate what I said before that we need someone playing behind the two strikers for him and Patino to look for to link the defending unit and the attacking unit.

I'd give him half that, poor again today for me

That extra man has to come from the five at the back. Today was the day when I thought we were going to see it, but alas.

When all the pegs go in the right holes we'll have a decent side, the squad is far stronger than last seasons, also, either Grimes or Fulton, not both...

Or it comes from Fulton's position, three holding midfielders is excessive no matter who you are playing.

Very early days but the direction of travel is clear already.
Can’t say I’ve enjoyed any of the games so far in fact they’ve been dreadful.

I thought Fulton was very good today. Grimes seemed to be a bit off the pace.

My thoughts too, which is why I questioned the 8 above. I scored them the other way around.

Well at least your poster boy won today, you must be stoked.

I've got no interest whatsoever in what Southampton do or don't do, as long as they play crap and lose the two occasions we play them.

I'm only interested in what the Swans are up to. Still waiting to see this "high octane, front foot" football that Duff promised, but it's very early days and I'm sure it's only just around the corner.

Bit rubbish. Rushworth looks a bundle of nerves after a few weeks with us, poor lad.
