Ginelly is one of the players that I'm most excited about this season.
Four years without any kind of semblance of pace and width has taken a big toll on this John Hodge fan.
Looked like he didn't know where he was supposed to be on the pitch most of the time he was on, which is understandable given his lack of preseason game time and the fact we were playing with wing-backs, which meant he was playing in the middle of the pitch when he should have been out wide. The goal was out of nothing, but what a strike. My boy wanted to leave when the board went up with 6 minutes on it (the second half had been deathly dull after we went 2-0 up to be fair), but was pretty happy I made us stay in the end!
Surprised how strong a team we put out. We were never ever exerting ourselves and they looked most likely to score when Rushworth gave it straight to one of their players in our area. Making 4 subs at the same time was bound to badly affect the flow of the game, but it was still alarming to see the drop off in quality once Grimes and Piroe were off the pitch.
I didn't realise Ashby was playing until the start of the second half, although he improved through the second 45 to be fair.
Abdulai was similar to the weekend, some good stuff and some bad, as you'd expect from such an inexperienced player.
Cullen was full of running and deserved a goal. 3 at the back still looked wrong to me. Cooper was everywhere and should be starting on the weekend, but the fact he played the full 90 makes me think that's not going to happen.
