Yes absolutely, Vipotnik looks about 3 yards off the pace at the moment.

We played well again, and with him it's with 10 men.

Have watched the penalty incident multiple times on highlights now. Quite simply, there's no way that's a penalty. Grimes is sandwiched and pushed by two Burnley players, mostly I think by Bashir Humphries. His arms are slightly raised to defend himself against their aggression and there's no way he knew anything about where the ball was. That is a feckin disgraceful decision, the ref should be ashamed of himself. If anything, it was a foul the other way for pushing.

It was a harsh decision but who defends themselves with arms in that position. Looking at the replay again Grimes needed to jump and compete not get bullied. He was left quite static. Not a pen but don't have crap positioning to allow a crap ref to give a crap penalty. If any player is around the 6 yard box defending a cross we need to stand up to it.

That picture is hard to argue with. Why the hell has he got his arm there. The law is still shite. It’s not stopping/giving any advantage or affecting the game at all. To decide games on that is not sport or what was intended when laws were invented. Would never have been given at the other end although ‘hands up ’ we’d have all been claiming it.

If that had happened at the other end and the ref hadn't given a penalty, the same people would have been saying it was a disgrace, ref was a cheat etc.

Law 12:
It is an offence if a player:

• touches the ball with their hand/arm when it has made their body unnaturally bigger. A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is not a consequence of, or justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation. By having their hand/arm in such a position, the player takes a risk of their hand/arm being hit by the ball and being penalised

It may have seemed harsh but Grimes had his hand above his head (no idea why as he didn't even jump), making his body unnaturally bigger, and the ball hit it so, by the letter of the law, it was a penalty.

A very harsh way to lose the game, as I felt we'd done enough to draw but we're always living on a knife edge because we just don't offer anything in attack

I've watched it several times now, he doesn't actually do anything apart from a weird recoiling action as if he was scared to get hurt. It just makes no sense why he had his hand up above his head

Not making the body unnaturally bigger though is it ? In blocking a shot or cross with arm out etc then yes. His arm is just in the air. It hasn't blocked and he hasn't sought to seek any advantage by it being in that position. He actually accidentally helped Burnley by deflecting a ball that was dropping towards his feet go to one of their attackers

Of course it made him bigger, his hand was about 6 inches above his head and the ball hit it.
As the wording of the law states:

"A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is not a consequence of, or justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation"
His body didn't move off the ground so there was no reason for his arm to be up in the air. Therefore, the position of his hand/arm was not a consequence of his body movement.

I'm sure if that had been a Burnley player at the other end you would be saying the exact opposite
