I felt I had to come back to this pointView attachment 5424

As said before the penalty wasn't a bad one it was right in the bottom corner
Sometimes you see keepers make only a tiny dive to protect against the ball going straight down the middle
Other times they guess wrong altogether
Melier (sp?) not only guesses right but makes a hard dive to his left to keep it out
Was it a great penalty? No, a "great" penalty would have had enough power that he couldn't have reached it anyway
Was it a "bad" penalty? No, it was still a difficult one to save that could only have happened if he had guessed right and dived hard to his left
Fortunately we still got a point out of the game but to call it a shocking penalty is simply untrue and unfair
That's a misleading picture and their keeper pushed it into the corner. Utilising the camera behind the goal the actual pen is quite weak, relatively central and he could have just stuck a leg out.

Had it have gone into the corner with power, he still may have saved it as he guessed the direction but I've taken better pens in an U14 penalty competition down the Vetch (no lies).

You're bang on with this Dan

Anyone that's anyone that's taken a Pen against a proper keeper will know that it takes far far more than what Tymon gave.

It's a proper edgy moment, that needs a proper proper edgy delivery - Tymon was barely edgy and failed. His body language was the tell-tale, from the off......

Nowadays we have far too many armchairs who have no proper grasp.

It was a terrible pen, next time, don't go running over to the ball and stand on the spot for about five minutes.. someone else get the ball, hold onto it, pass it over, less time to think, pick your corner, hard and low, don't do what Tymon did.. it's not complicated, you might hit the post, but that's called unlucky

That picture is equally misleading, the ball is still 4 yards or so away from the goal. The penalty was along the floor so there is no mistaking the angle with height. The goalkeeper would need to have 7 foot long legs to just "stick a leg out" and save that
