Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Southampton 3 v Swansea City 0 | The Emirates FA Cup Third Round

The football served by this group is turning many away. All the hard work building the fan base during the Premier years is diminishing month by month, and there's no light at the end of the tunnel, even with the new owners on board.
Gave my season ticket up at end of the last one, can't honestly tell you when I'll be going again to a home game.

Bored shitless with it all.

And they are doing so whilst the early bird season ticket renewals are open! I've questioned my sanity the last 4/5 years in renewing and am considering not renewing as I just don't enjoy the turgid and inconsistent displays that are on offer. I've been a Season Ticket holder since 1996.

I can't be the only one questioning whether to renew.

If he serves up a shocker next weekend at Cardiff 100% he will be gone
I think the WBA situation has been blown out of context. I can’t see why they would be genuinely interested in him and don’t think Luke said anything out of order.

That was supposed to be a reply to Phil, but I’m an idiot

What the last couple of games has shown us is that we have a shit squad, playing worse than the sum of their parts, mystifying tactics, no leadership, they look clueless, gutless, wide open, with a complete allergy to having a go.

Did I capture everything?
You missed the massive elephant in the room thang - we have the effective, efficient, entertaining PROVEN winning blueprint WITHOUT the Willy.

Even if we'd gone full strength, we'd have lost, Southampton didn't get out of second gear because they didn't need to. Just look at eho they had on the bench. I personally would have rested more because of the scum game next week. Imagine if Grimes would have a red for that challenge.

It maybe fashionable to pretend it doesn't mean anything but what else is there to look forward to this season than the Derby and the hope of beating them and keeping them in the relegation zone?

Why don't our managers give youngsters a chance? What's the fvking point in a youth team?

The club better not announce that geriatric rag in goals tonight has signed a new contract in the morning. But you just know its coming.

Overall though I'm more angry at how depleted and hapless the squad has become over a number of years under these pathetic owners (including the existing who was chairman) than tonight in isolation. Quite depressing.

And this at a time when they are trying to get supporters to part with their hard earned money to purchase season tickets, so soon after the expensive Christmas period. Let's be honest, who has the enthusiasm at this time to be spending money on a season ticket, particularly after the absolute garbage served up of late. There's no direction to the club, no plan of where we go from here. Most of the new signings are dreadful, the managers appointed recently, no better. All our better players have been sold , with nothing left here of any value, yet consistently youth is getting ignored under the current regime.

It’s a symptom of piss poor management, 100%.

Just look at the stark contrast to our QPR (and Luton, in the main) outing when Williams was excluded from EVERYTHING.

We have a winning blueprint, without the fraud.

It really is that simple.
ATM we are clueless, I'm guessing everyone is 'saving' themselves for Cardiff, theres no excuse for that, 600 went there today, and were served up dogs shit it's not good enough. A keeper passing to the hoardings, and Ronald blasted at least 2 passes to kin no one. Shite.

Most of the time I think I'm fairly realistic about where we are and what's possible, but there are day's like today that I just feel we need some kind of reset, a complete reinvention of our football team; we're so lifeless and f*cking BORING in everything we do.

We need a mass extinction event down there - get rid of everyone and start again. Keep a handful of younger players and some of the recent signings that might come good. Other than that, trash the rest along with all the staff. Is KOL still earning a wedge to sit on his fat ass and watch a tablet showing tedious bollox all game?

The first-team football set-up is just a gravy train for coaches and players to take a nice wage for doing hardly enough to tread water. blow the whole thing up and start again. Find some vigorous young coach like Bellamy somewhere who can bring some energy and life to a football team and let's gooooooooooooo!

Ok, back to rearranging deckchairs on The Jacktanic...
I said this years ago and got shot down in flames.. it's amazing how everyone can see it all now.. it's been like this for years.. why is everyone only now realising Grimes is a plodder

I just don’t understand if Williams was completely shut out for these games why keep him employed?

As long as we keep appointing coaches who obsess over stats, think racking up completed passes and possession is a sure fire way to progress, and clearly have one eye on the next job then we're not going to get anywhere.

Give me an old head. A Mowbray type who has been there, done that, tries to play nice, entertaining football and won't attempt to convert defensive midfielders into wingers.
