Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City 2 Portsmouth FC 2 | The EFL Championship

I thought Grimes was quite poor today really slacking with his passing, take a point after that dreadful first half, could have won it, but they also missed a sitter at the end (which looked offside to me anyway) Luton next who have been shocking this season.
He was dreadful.
Did he miss Franco today!?

I enjoyed that....great entertainment.
Stadium had too many empty spots again, given fans saying they are not going because it's lacking entertainment then I would like to think some will return given the entertainment on offer in the last 2 home games.

Cullen is a different player of late, really looking like he can fill that no 10 spot.
Done everything but score that 3rd in the 2nd half but could have lost it also.

Grimes was shocking today!

Portsmouth done a job in us 1st half and we fell into it........their a bloody terrible team but we showed our naivety

Great fight bang comeback though.

Key was at fault for both goals, gives it away too easily for the 1st and just ball watching for the 2nd after Cabango also has a magical moment.
Key needs a big kick up his arse in certain aspects of his game........short passes seem to be a big issue.

Another point on the board, we have 23 from 18 games and need to target atleast 30 points on board come 23 games(half way stage).
Agree re Key, he looks so good and then out of the blue plays a pass that absolutely kills us.
I thought Grimes was great in the second half, looks like I’m on my own with that opinion.
1st half was a carbon copy of the Wycombe game - get into them, don’t give them a second on the ball and force them backwards. Way more energy than us.

Eom's missed chance was worse than a miss, he took it off Cullen's toe as he was about to slot it into the net. Look at Cullen bollocking him. He should have been sent off for denying a goal scoring opportunity!

If there's one positive to take from the match, it's the continued excellent form of Cullen. What a transformation from last season, when he was a bit 'meh' to say the least.
How much of it is down to Bellamy's influence?

1st half everyone was poor, but jeez second half what more was Grimes supposed to do? He was covering every blade of grass defensively when our full backs were pushing up and twice made vital challenges. Add into that trying his best to keep the tempo going till the very end i mean come on 🤷‍♂️ I will state however the recurring theme of what's the point of abduai though 🙈

Only two players really showed up today - Cullen and Grimes.

Cabango was awful. He's going back to his old carthorse ways the last few games. You just can't trust him.

Joe Allen is finished, kaput, shouldn't be playing, shouldn't have had a new deal, his legs have gone.

MPH is rubbish.

Despite all this, we still should have won today but as usual couldn't hit a barn door. Pompey were crap, there for the taking.

Two points well and truly dropped.
For the first 20 minutes in the 2nd half Allen was purring and ran the show so to say he shouldnt be playing is well off the mark. Also once MPH went into the centre i felt his physically was better suited and he some good touches. Cabango though was really shaky, wasnt comfortable all day.

I think we must have been watching different games because Joe Allen did nothing in the first half and was way off it, imo.

I hope that Eom, post injury, can develop his game where it matters. Some lovely play at times hasn't yet resulted in an assist or a goal. His final ball and shooting leave a lot to be desired. He's been treated very gently by our fans compared to others but it's time to produce the goods now.
After his fantastic strike at Derby, Vip did his disappearing act again today. I know he doesn't get much service but he struggles to help himself too.

Just before his injury it looked as if he'd settled. Picking up an injury is never good, in his instance it was awful timing.

Hard to judge him on today's performance after so many weeks out.

Last season and unfortunately this, whoever we play up front won’t impress as they never get the ball.
We just can’t get them involved.
If we’d played the ball to big Vip half as much as we did the keeper, I’m sure he’d be on double figures.
Cullen in the 10 role has the energy and head to excel IMO… much more than playing him as that lone striker.

It was impulsive and I would have probably have taken it on myself in his position, a few inches to the right and he is the hero.

Cullen has really solved the no 10 scenario. He brings goals and creativity to a level needed to compete in the top half of this league.

I feel the need for wingers to feed off his supply and in turn to supply him is the priority now in January.

Just posted similar to you regards Cullen. I feel with a god winger or 2 then Cullen will excel aswell as Vipotnik.

Cullen has solved a massive dilemma that we needed sorting in the summer at no 10.

Not sure i mentioned the first half....granted allen doesnt have the legs in a 2 and pompey were full of energy first half where no one took any credit. But 2nd half he was different gravy untill replaced

Have to add that the same 11 who went 2-0 down then turned it around to 2-2.
Think it would have been easy to have fallen in to the trap to make subs at half time.
They needed 10-15mins to bring it around so was nice to see some fight in the team.
