Season 24/25 | The Official Match Thread | Swansea City 2 Portsmouth FC 2 | The EFL Championship

Grimes was mostly pretty good I thought (second half)...when he was being positive. he wanted the ball all the time. Our problem with him is we give the ball all the time!

They were all gash in the first half, bar Cullen and maybe Vig (he gets much too much ball) who I thought might have done a bit better with the second goal by just kicking it away rather than diving for it. He normally does that well..

Eom's missed chance was worse than a miss, he took it off Cullen's toe as he was about to slot it into the net. Look at Cullen bollocking him. He should have been sent off for denying a goal scoring opportunity!

If there's one positive to take from the match, it's the continued excellent form of Cullen. What a transformation from last season, when he was a bit 'meh' to say the least.
How much of it is down to Bellamy's influence?
We missed 4 virtually open goals today (PH two, Eom and Frenchie) and a worldie save...Cullen couldn't believe it, neither could I. I honestly don't see (within our limitations, obviously, which can't be ignored) what more anyone could expect from us in the second half...except put the bloody open goals away, but that has been an issue since PH (yes, him again) made a public plum of himself in Sheffield.

Only two players really showed up today - Cullen and Grimes.

Cabango was awful. He's going back to his old carthorse ways the last few games. You just can't trust him.

Joe Allen is finished, kaput, shouldn't be playing, shouldn't have had a new deal, his legs have gone.

MPH is rubbish.

Despite all this, we still should have won today but as usual couldn't hit a barn door. Pompey were crap, there for the taking.

Two points well and truly dropped.
Nailed it.
Cabango is always a disaster waiting to happen.
Allen was finished when he signed. Failed the medical, allegedly.
Add subs’ usual fiasco and Williams is culpable, yet again. He shouldn’t need to be seen shouting irrationally, despite claims by some fans it’s a good trait.
Two points well and truly dropped by a manager who is failing to learn.

Sorry but you are totally wrong regards the points dropped by the manager.
Two lapses by the players cost us 2 goals.
We created enough chances to get atleast another 2 goals in the 2nd half.

Ultimately after a bad start, the players gained us a point after giving the opposition a 2 goal start.

Yes the Manager is culpable the majority of the time but he can't be blamed for poor finishing today.

I have to say the last two home games have been really entertaining contests and had me on the edge of my seat even though we only picked up one point out of a possible six.

Yes, I'd love to see us take at least four points from the six but the entertainment value (including Cabango's pantomime horse defending) I'd much better than that turgid sh1te we have been previously subjected to.

I just can't believe that we didn't win that after the second half display. A worldy and the bar

Missed numerous sitters and a unbelievable save from their keeper. Not sure what else we could have done otherwise to be hinest

Eom really needs a kick up the arse with his finishing. Looks a rolls Royce player before he crosses or shoots though!

3 tough games in a week done and our usual 4 points.

A few our there yesterday looked drained playing all of the 270 minutes and concerning that players in the squad are not getting any minutes at all begs the question why are they here? Clearly LW doesn't rate some or is the Wycombe game still fresh in his mind.

Think the post I replied to was just a usual Martin basher and the link with Williams is just an itch that still needs scratching.
The players let themselves down yesterday at both ends of the pitch with silly mistakes, lack of composure and poor finishing.

I was angry that we dropped points and I’ve calmed down a bit today.
First half was so static and reminiscent of us under Duff, nobody happy with that and hopefully a one off.
Great response, still loads to be positive about. Entertaining.

Some of our fans would have Duff back in a flash. I think it's a facial hair thing with a lot of them. They don't like beards. They don't trust 'em.

Gave away 2 totally avoidable goals yesterday, but what a comeback second half , and if it hadn't been for an extraordinary save by their keeper and a couple of missed chances we would have won the game. Thought the energy second half was terrific, thought Grimes played well second half. Substitutes again didn't really offer much , Bianchini should have scored, Eom always seems to flatter to deceive and the less said about Abdulai the better.

To be honest, why we'd move Abdulai to the wing and MPH to the middle when it seems more success to have them the other way around is baffling.

I do feel Abdulai is being hung out to dry. It's like putting Allen or Fulton on the wing.

A good Pompey supporting friend of mine was at the game and I just exchanged a few messages with him this morning and he said we gave them a 2-2 thrashing 😂😂😂 He was very happy with a point.
