Season 25/26 | The Official Match Thread | Cheltenham Town 2 Swansea City 1 | 905 Jack Army Count | PRESEASON FRIENDLY | 7pm, 23/07/25

Decent run out, you learn a lot from these.

Kids are not upto it as squad players and we are lacking depth.
Galbraith,Inoussa and Widell will be decent but will likely need a bit of time to settle and get their confidence going.

Cotterill and Congreve need loans again.

New signings all looked a step up in quality. Youngsters unfortunately added nothing, not even pace or excitement, desperately disappointed for them. Pretty rubbish game really, even for a meaningless kick about.

Nothing really to judge by that, run out for some of the kids, minutes in the legs, and a bit of mid week footy. Could have cut the lawn but fvck it.👍

I know it's 1 game but wasn't impressed by youth players. Congreve was bad and has no excuse as he has played and been around the team. Think we need more depth on bench and a striker. Wales looks like he will take time and VP needs to be starting to see if he can score from service.

That’s ridiculous Daps mun. No judgements of any kind should be made on that, good or bad. Introducing one, or two, youngsters into a settled first team is totally different to just bunging them all all on like that and judging them all as not good enough in 20 minutes. They were, if anything, poorly coached. Parker standing on the ball like that should be kicked up the arse. The Martin/Willy playbook needs to be burned in front of them all.

All that was is a fitness and training exercise, start to finish.

Judgements will certainly be made from it and for the remaining friendlies.....Sheehan and all other members will be making judgements on these games.
The results are meaningless but the small detail will be looked at.

There was positives and negatives there tonight..

I was impressed with all the new signings especially Widdel, he looks real class and others when match fit will improve further.

Fulton forced in a CB role showed he can't play there either in this team also going through the back of a Cheltenham player in a friendly on the half way line, why?

Again, letting in goals from crosses especially against lower league opposition should be ringing alarm bells

Cullen is no single striker if even a striker at all, needed a focal point first half. The crosses were better than last season.

Bringing five kids on at once killed the game, shades of Martinball happy just to keep possession in our half was a hard watch. When we went long it was pretty aimless.

Hopefully the next two matches focuses on what our Boro line up will be looking like.

Fulton and Cooper becoming the obvious elephants in the room.

The biggest worry is there seemed to be no discernable game plan or style of play from us
