• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Reach the WC sending Portugal into the play offs

Hmm this is bad news. Would have fancied us home to Serbia. Portugal however, definitely one to avoid.

I would tend to agree - I assume if we get a point against Belgium though then that means we avoid Portugal?

I need to pay more attention to international football

Not necessarily - the playoffs are two-legged, so if we draw with Belgium we'll probably be seeded in the semi finals, but could still play Portugal in the final.

You sure about it being 2 legged? I thought it was three groups each containing 4 teams. Each group would have 2 seeded teams who would play a single “home” semi final against an unseeded team, the winners of the 2 semi finals would then scrap it out in a winner take all final for a WC spot. The venue for the final would be decided on the toss of a coin between the 2 competing teams.

Yeah you’re right Major, I meant two rounds not two legged.

Wales aren't going to the finals.

Well that's disappointing. Has anyone called Rob Page and the team to let them know? That's potentially 3 more games they don't have to bother with now Badlands has told us the future.

Think that's a bit of a disservice to Serbia after they've just gone and won a game like that in Portugal. They've earned what they achieved last night.

Just having Mitrovic should make any Swans supporter wary of Serbia given his record against us.

Indeed, and not just last night. They won that group on merit over the whole qualifying campaign.

Really need to get that point tomorrow now and avoid Italy and Portugal in the first round. Denmark didn’t help us out but thankfully Hungary did.

Looking likely we'd come up against someone like them at some point no matter which route we end up. Better start getting in the frame of mind for it now :)

Yes absolutely, but would still be good to get a home tie first and a chance of a home tie in the final if we get there, rather than have Italy away and if we somehow win then Portugal away!
