A lot of people visiting coastal areas just don’t realise how dangerous it is.
Hope everyone is ok regarding this incident.

It is often the case those from inland towns are ignorant as to the dangers of the open sea.We see it all the time and mankind has learned nothing.
As a kid,we used to go to Pobbles to swim but were told to stay well away from Three Cliffs a it was notorious for currents. We did. Those who don't sometime die of ignorance.Behind beauty often lies death

Yes, part of Three Cliffs Bay is the estuary of the Pennard Pill of course and although it's not a big river, just by flowing into the sea at that point, it causes outward currents which can be very tricky for swimmers. I used to live in Pennard when I was very young and can recall overhearing my parents talking of local lads who had had a close shave swimming there.

The river causes a rip current which cane be difficult to swim out of because the river twists and turns as it enters the sea, so you don't know which way to swim to escape itkarnataka said:Sa2 jack said:It is often the case those from inland towns are ignorant as to the dangers of the open sea.We see it all the time and mankind has learned nothing.
