• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Anyone know what happens if they are unable to play their opening fixture? Are they expelled from the league and we have a Championship season with 23 clubs?

Stupidly already booked my train tickets for the game there, getting a bit concerned now

They will fulfil their fixtures. EFL ultimately will bail them out. Although they will have a very thin and young squad of mainly kids. Just as well Daps isn't a wendies fan 😁

I know that a club wound up mid season has all results expunged.
What happens if a club is wound up before the season starts I don't know
Nor do I know what happens with relegation places, ie does it change from 24th-22nd relegated to 23rd-21st?

It’s a terrible state of affairs for the club and it’s fans especially.

What I can’t get my head around is why and how these apparently successful businessmen who buy these clubs get to pass the fit and proper person test for ownership purposes, as clearly Dejphon Chansiri is not someone that should have been anywhere near taking control of a football club.

Maybe they need to tighten things up around the examination of these business types, so as to ward off those interested parties who end up failing miserably, at running what can be regarded as the heartbeat of many towns and cities across the country.

I'd imagine that only 2 go down. And then every league below has an extra team go up

Didn’t the fans welcome him with open arms and crow about their riches? I don’t know the answer to that, but it wouldn’t surprise me. Fans play their part too in screeching for 10 new players every window and moaning about not splashing their cash.

The FA tend to prefer less relegation over more promotion, so would likely be one less relegation place at each level - so only 3 down from L1 instead of 4.

I doubt they’ll actually end up getting expelled though.

They really do have to do something about these owners who just get up one morning and decide they're not paying wages anymore.

Imo the minute any owner does that, no second chances, the club is removed from their hands, the FA/EFL take over immediately and arrange a sale for a token amount of £1. Current owner has no say, they forfeit all rights.

They're ruining football these owners, clubs like Sheffield Wednesday are an institution, but they don't give a toss. It's disgusting.
