I’ve named players twice for two positions where they can provide cover there when needed.

The question of whether there is enough quality in the side is a totally different one but we were never going to be able to do that in just the one window.

Are we better off now than we were on 1 July? I’d say we are

I do think there is a lack of creativity in Midfield. Full back is another position we should have strengthened.

Not short in numbers, but short in quality for me with a few players who have a history of injury problems, Obafemi and Walsh the two main ones.

Fosu would have been a big loan signing for us, I don't think it has been a good window in the slightest unfortunately.

Yeah I think if there’s any accusation it could be that we’re short on quality. Hard to tell, but I feel we’ve lost on quality overall with Connor & Lowe going. This chap from S’ton may come good but unproven. Wing back we’re weaker than we were 24 hours ago. There’s a lot of quality gone out of our club in the last 2-3 years.

On the plus side, we’re buying young players with potential, so hopefully that bodes well for the future.

Aside from shifting 7 or 8 players and bringing the same in, we were always going to be short on quality.

The way I see it is that Williams, Laird, Obefemi, Ntcham, Downes, Paterson are all players that he has signed or given the green light to. So having not had a manager a month ago, we could now, in theory, field a team with 6 or 7 Russell Martin players.

And that's before you factor in him liking Grimes and whoever else.

It's taking shape but if anyone thinks/thought that mistakes of countless windows were going to be put right in just one, either they are deluded, haven't been following us for very long or both.
