Bobby Charlton has been diagnosed with dementia. The fifth player from England's 1966 World Cup-winning team to have been diagnosed with the disease.

Nobby Stiles, Martin Peters, Jack Charlton and Ray Wilson, all members of the 1966 winning team, have died in the last couple of years after living with dementia.

Not great news but he is 83.

I met him once and thought he was an ignorant twat.

I've met him twice on 2 separate occasions, and he was abs brilliant with my young son.

In fact my son spent 2 whole days with him training and loved every minute, plus he sat down and chatted with us with no sign of being ignorant. The 2nd time he made a point of coming to me and shaking hands because he recognised me!!
