Swansea should become a city on the beach (like Paris de la Plage) and, this may sound bizarre, but it would do very well if there was an outdoor thermal pool on the front to attract visitors all year round.
Something needs to be done about the sewage discharges for that to be even thought about.Swansea should become a city on the beach (like Paris de la Plage) and, this may sound bizarre, but it would do very well if there was an outdoor thermal pool on the front to attract visitors all year round.
This in spades. It's as if they are purposely trying to destroy the city centre.Trouble with shopping in Swansea is the council charge a fortune for their rent, I knew a Disney employee when it was open in the Quadrant down here before they shut they told me it was because the rent being charged was even higher than in Cardiff, shambles.
A mumbles tram / monorail to the Bay Campus would be awesome.
That was a pop-up shop that was never designed to be permanent, just a short-term holiday opening. Those kind of tenants do tend to be charged more, which makes sense as they're never going to be there long and then you have an empty unit again. Also, that was pre-Covid and a lot has changed since then. I'm not saying rents are cheap, but I highly doubt a permanent tenant would be paying anything like a similar unit in Cardiff.Trouble with shopping in Swansea is the council charge a fortune for their rent, I knew a Disney employee when it was open in the Quadrant down here before they shut they told me it was because the rent being charged was even higher than in Cardiff, shambles.
It would transform the area. Mumbles-City-Bay Campus (link to Neath would be good for Neath too).
Great for day trips, but it could also take loads of cars off the roads if done well.
Were the Council running the Quadrant when the Disney shop was there?Trouble with shopping in Swansea is the council charge a fortune for their rent, I knew a Disney employee when it was open in the Quadrant down here before they shut they told me it was because the rent being charged was even higher than in Cardiff, shambles.
Funnily enough Micky Mouse was running the council back in the day...Were the Council running the Quadrant when the Disney shop was there?
I thought it was operated by someone else.
I thought it was privately owned until recently and that company would have been responsible for rent?Trouble with shopping in Swansea is the council charge a fortune for their rent, I knew a Disney employee when it was open in the Quadrant down here before they shut they told me it was because the rent being charged was even higher than in Cardiff, shambles.
That was also part of the plan to reduce travel times to Paddington by passing Neath station? There was serious talk/planning to open the line up behind Amazon that leads to Neath and up through the valley, for a shuttle service between Swansea marina and beyond Neath (Resolven, Glynneath, etc.) - a lot of the infrastructure is there but it went quiet.
