Swansea should become a city on the beach (like Paris de la Plage) and, this may sound bizarre, but it would do very well if there was an outdoor thermal pool on the front to attract visitors all year round.

Something needs to be done about the sewage discharges for that to be even thought about.
Maybe the rise in our water charges will sort it out, or there again maybe not.

The company behind this venture operate a number of sites around the world including the one at Rotorua in New Zealand which I was fortunate enough to visit nearly 30 years ago, got to say the luge was totally and utterly awesome. I’d defo go again and think this would be a real boost for Swansea. A mumbles tram / monorail to the Bay Campus would be awesome.

Trouble with shopping in Swansea is the council charge a fortune for their rent, I knew a Disney employee when it was open in the Quadrant down here before they shut they told me it was because the rent being charged was even higher than in Cardiff, shambles.

This in spades. It's as if they are purposely trying to destroy the city centre.

It would transform the area. Mumbles-City-Bay Campus (link to Neath would be good for Neath too).

Great for day trips, but it could also take loads of cars off the roads if done well.

Civic centre is going to be high end apartments and higher end eateries / retail outlets
This, and the proposed Devon ferry will help

That was a pop-up shop that was never designed to be permanent, just a short-term holiday opening. Those kind of tenants do tend to be charged more, which makes sense as they're never going to be there long and then you have an empty unit again. Also, that was pre-Covid and a lot has changed since then. I'm not saying rents are cheap, but I highly doubt a permanent tenant would be paying anything like a similar unit in Cardiff.

There was serious talk/planning to open the line up behind Amazon that leads to Neath and up through the valley, for a shuttle service between Swansea marina and beyond Neath (Resolven, Glynneath, etc.) - a lot of the infrastructure is there but it went quiet.

Were the Council running the Quadrant when the Disney shop was there?
I thought it was operated by someone else.

I thought it was privately owned until recently and that company would have been responsible for rent?

That was also part of the plan to reduce travel times to Paddington by passing Neath station?

It’d be great. There are issues at the other end though, as I think between Blackpill and West Cross there’s at least one place now with no room for a track.

If there was the will and money, I’m sure there’s a way to make it happen, even if we have to knock down that monstrosity that the Trade Centre Wales twot built 🤣
